Thus Computer science engineers after completion of the degree, has got engrossing and challenging opportunities available when compared to the other fields of engineering. THEORY OF COMPUTATION & COMMUNICATION BOOKS.COMPUTER ORGANISATION & ARCHITECTURE BOOKS.There is definitely some difference of features in all, with 'all my books' has slightly less features than the 'book collector' but when it comes to use 'all my books' is very convenient. I have found that Bolide ones are very less popular while calibre, book collector are more popular ones. I have been using Movie one too with great ease. After you purchase the program, you may add 4 additional types to it for just 10 each. We have developed over 35 different types of collectors software and tailored each one specifically to that collection. It has been developed by Bolide Softwares which has also softwares for cataloging movies and music files. Visual PackRat Plus Collectors Software allows the collector to easily catalog and keep an inventory of their collectibles. You get your work done in very few clicks. All My Books can also do the both tasks but the best thing is that its easy and quick. Calibre is more about organizing the library of ebooks that one has in the computer/hdd and Book Collector can look on the internet for books as well as can add ebooks on the computer. I have used Calibre and Book Collector () but haven't found them very convenient to use. Its very easy to use, with good looking interface, and brings quick results. ) for around a month now and really its the best that I have got so far. I have been using ''All My Books'' software (. I have only done around 5,000 books so far and have a loooong way to go yet. I have tried soo many but these are the ones I keep coming back to.Īs for the software for the Mac,I haven't played with those very much because I thought I needed my head read starting more databases before I ever finished one lol. If you are wanting to add lots of details I would recommend Book Collector, slightly less detail BookBag,then BookDB.įor an online database then Librarything as you can pretty much add as much or as little info as you want. If you have a mac then there is Delicious Library or Booxter. The first db program I ever used is BookBag from Wakefield Soft which also has a free trial,or did last time I checked. There is a field for almost any detail you wish to include.Works for PC and Mac and has apps for ipod/iphone,not sure about android phones.īookDB is a free program, less detailed but covers the basics and can also be run from a usb drive.Have heard it also works on a Mac but never tested it myself.Īnd the other one I use is Librarything as an online database. I'm off to a bed and breakfast for the weekend with my beloved - and some books! :-)īook Collector has an online database(has a yearly fee) or a computer based one. There are free trials for both. Thinking.the basement? No way! My books might get musty! And I think I've ranted on long enough. I even have a couple of books in the my bathroom. But they are NEAT stacks and I know what is in each of them (the knowing part might be stretching the truth just a tad).
My bedroom? Piles everywhere the dressing table, the tv cabinet, the rolltop desk, the nightstand, the floor next to my bed. I also have two long low shelves in the dining room that I'm sure were intended for displaying the nice china - they are full of cookbooks (also cataloged). Let me be clear - I'm a psychology major - I KNOW I have a problem! :-) I want to alphabatize each section by author next. There's also several overflowing shelves in the hutch for "Read Next" books. I even have a shelf labeled for books to be cataloged on my desk hutch. Another 2 bookshelves in the family room house biography & memoirs, writing, and author collections Woolf (Virginia), Cameron (Julia), Goldberg (Natalie), and Oates (Joyce Carol). I have 2 bookshelves in my office for book swap/trade/sell, business & money, non-fiction, reference, and poetry. I've also got shelves in the living room built-ins for movies, games, and photographs (albums). I saw it somewhere and just loved the idea. One of my projects this year was to make labels for the all the shelves in the house out of old scrabble tiles. All shelved by category art, classics, fiction, gardening, health, history & science, hobbies, home, kids (for when the grandkids come over), mexico, misc, oversized, pyschology, travel & nature are all in the living room built-ins next the fireplace. I tend to be a little behind in the shelving department and they end up in stacks all over my office. Now it is part the joy of getting "new" books - getting them all scanned in, noted, and properly shelved. When I firt got the software, it took me about a year to get my entire library scanned (you get a free barcode scanner with the software). I have hundreds of CDs that I would love to catalog too, but haven't - yet. I bundled and bought all 3 when I first bought it. I went to the website and now I'm drooling over the upgrade! Also, you can buy software for your music and video as well. It was inexpensive (only $40 now) and very user friendly. I've been using Readerware for about 5 years and I (this part is in a sing-songy voice) LOVE IT.
